What is the IQOS App?

The IQOS App for Windows and Mac is an application for adult IQOS users. It keeps your IQOS up-to-date and guarantees an optimum user experience.

What advantages will you have as a user of the IQOS App?

The IQOS App enables you to check the current firmware version on your IQOS and, as necessary, update it to the latest version in order to ensure the best performance possible. Accordingly, the IQOS App helps to extend the service life of IQOS devices. Additionally, you can use the IQOS App to individually customize and personalize interaction with your IQOS device. The App also features all of the helpful tips & tricks for IQOS.

To use the IQOS App, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the IQOS App.
  2. Select country and language.
  3. Enter your age.
  4. Read the information disclosure (the IQOS App contains information about smoke-free products).
  5. Create an account on the website, or log in.
  6. Read and accept the terms of use.
  7. As desired, consent to us processing data for the reasons explained in the IQOS App (you can specify which data you wish to share with us at any time in the App's preferences center)

The IQOS App allows you to personalize the IQOS experience based on your preferences. To do so, select "Device" in the App’s menu. On each page in device settings, you can modify configurations and customize your user experience, such as vibration or illumination.

IQOS device registration

If your device isn’t registered yet, it will be automatically registered to your account as soon as it is paired with the IQOS App. For that to happen, you need to create an account on iqos.com first. It isn’t possible to create an account directly in the IQOS App.

If you are unable to register your device at this time, then press the “retry” button.
Please note: it isn’t possible to register a rented device.
If registration still isn’t successful after multiple attempts, then please contact IQOS Care using LiveChat at iqos.com.

If you choose to remove your device from your account using the app, then only your pocket charger will be deleted. You’ll continue to see your holder in your account. To also completely remove your holder from your profile, please contact IQOS Care Support.

Illumination mode

The “illumination mode” function can be used to adjust the brightness of the LEDs on the IQOS device. Brightness can be adjusted between 50% and 100%.

This feature is not available for IQOS 2.4 Plus devices.It is only available for IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS 3, and IQOS 3 MULTI with the following firmware versions:

  • IQOS 3 DUO Pocket Charger - all versions
  • IQOS 3 DUO-Holder - all versions
  • IQOS 3 Pocket Charger - v1.2.0 and higher
  • IQOS 3 Holder - v1.3.0 and higher
  • IQOS 3 MULTI - v1.4.0 and higher

Self-cleaning

Automatic self-cleaning is performed after 10 or 20 uses, depending on the device. You can use the IQOS App to launch automatic self-cleaning as needed. (This feature is available for the devices with the following firmware versions: IQOS 3 DUO – all versions; IQOS 3 - all versions; IQOS 3 MULTI does not offer this feature; IQOS 2.4 Plus - v2.3.0 and higher).

Vibration

This feature permits configuration of the vibration alarm.
You can have a vibration alarm triggered:

  • When your holder is charged and ready for use.
  • During use.
  • When the device is heating.
  • When the device is ready for use after heating.
  • Shortly before the end of use.
  • At the end of use.

Firmware update

The IQOS App enables you to check the current firmware version on your IQOS and update it to the latest version, as needed, in order to ensure the best operation possible. Accordingly, the IQOS App helps to extend the service life of IQOS devices.

If you’ve already installed the IQOS App, then you can update the firmware under "About my device". All device info is displayed there. You can update the device’s firmware from this screen in just a few simple steps. Click on the option "UPDATE FIRMWARE" and follow the directions.

Connected Care

If a device error or malfunction is detected, then the IQOS App will inform you and guide you through troubleshooting to correct the error immediately.

Non-critical errors:

  • A non-critical error takes place when your IQOS is no longer functioning properly. Example: Your device is outside the recommended temperature range.
  • You can ignore non-critical errors and continue using the device. It is not necessary to replace the device.
Critical errors:
  • A critical error takes place when you receive a push notification within the IQOS App showing information on how you need to proceed.
  • Follow the step-by-step process to resolve the problem.
If the problem is resolved using the steps recommended by the IQOS App, the user is shown a notification. The device can then be used normally again.

How do I know if my IQOS is connected with the IQOS App?

  1. When your device is connected, the IQOS App displays "Device connected".
  2. If your device has been paired, then it will appear in the overview for all your devices under the "Devices" tab.

How can I unregister my IQOS from the App?

  1. Go to the “Devices” tab and scroll left or right to navigate to the device you’d like to check.
  2. Tap on "Device settings" -> "About my device" -> "Unregister" and remove your device from the IQOS App.
  3. You won’t be able to remove the device from the IQOS App without unregistering it from your user account.
  4. Removing the device will only work by unregistering it from your account.

Do I need an internet connection on my Windows or Mac to use the IQOS App?

Yes. An internet connection is required for the following functions or sections:

  • Logging in / opening the IQOS App for the first time
  • My account
  • Select country
  • Terms of use
  • Data protection notice
  • Registration of devices
Features not listed above do not require Internet access, such as FAQs.
